I am looking for a water purification container for camping and or surviving in the outdoors. Also what is the best way to preserve your water when storing it in barrels or bottles for a long period of time?

My son went on a eight week survival trip and they purified their water by putting three drops of chlorine bleach in each canteen and waiting 20 minutes.

Sunlight causes bacteria in water. Bleach prevents bacterial growth, as do opaque containers.
