If I park an RV in a camping site in the US, can I usually get into the nearest city fairly easily?

Me and my friends are planning an 80 day road trip of the US and Canada and we’re thinking of renting an RV and making use of the camping grounds along the way.

We were just wondering though, if we can’t bring the RV into the city and instead we keep it in the camp ground, is there always adequate reliable transport into the city so that we can explore etc. and then head back at night?
It’ll probably be 25 foot fyi.
