Has anyone ever taken a rental RV across the American/Canadian border?

Sam D asked:

I’m renting an RV next weekend and planning to drive it up to Vancouver, BC. Has anyone ever made a border crossing in a rented vehicle before? Or an RV that they own? How long might this take? What should I expect? Do you have any advice?

Thanks!

First find out if you can legally do so. I’m not kidding. Some rentals are NOT allowed to leave the state/country they are in.

If you leave and have any type of incident, you will be forced to pay a large fine, on top of any damages that will not be covered by the insurance you buy with the rental, as leaving the state/country you originally rented from will void your insurance.
