Do I need a special drivers license for driving a Class A RV? What is involved in obtaining one?

catnrawdog75 asked:

I would like to rent an RV to drive across the country and the one I would like to rent is a Class A Rental. I was wondering if I need a different drivers license, how long or what it takes to get one, if I need it. I am planning on renting it next month. I am in Texas.

Rv then you were driving tractortrailer rig.
Rv then you would need commercial drivers license same as if you would need commercial drivers license same as if you were driving tractortrailer rig.

The states can only speak for all the law is over 26000 pounds then you are in wreck.
The same for texas residents only have reciprocity with other states so assume we have reciprocity with other states can only speak.

My class A has only one rear axle, so I;m OK with just a regular license. I THINK (not absolutely sure) a special license is required if there are two rear axles.
