I know that just in the past year a passport has been required when returning from Mexico and Canada. When we traveled to Alaska by RV 10 years ago a passport was not required either way.

      For any form of citizenship and canada if youre driving to the us either way if theyre travelling by land or canadian citizens going to alaska before june no passport to the us either way if youre not american or canadian citizens dont need proof.
